You can trace patterns—your anger in his anger, your workaholism in his addictive personality, your relational failures in his broken marriage. The generational connection seems obvious and biblical.
Disciples saw a man born blind and asked Jesus, 'Who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?' Religious assumption: suffering equals someone's sin. Jesus answered: 'NEITHER this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him'—then immediately healed him, demolishing the sin-causes-suffering equation.
I REFUSE the lie that God is punishing my son for my failures. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ REDEEMED us from the curse—every generational pattern was broken at the cross. My bloodline was hijacked by the blood of Jesus. IT IS WRITTEN in Ezekiel 18:20 that the son does not bear the father's guilt—my sins are on me, covered by grace, not transferred to him. My son is NOT cursed—he is BLESSED with the blessing of Abraham by covenant. I speak LIFE over his generation. The works of God will be revealed in his story, and people will know that only covenant grace could have produced this testimony. I stand in the BARAK blessing that protected even liars and deceivers.
The Father isn't holding your past against your son—He's holding the cross OVER your son. What looks like generational curse is actually setup for a generational testimony when the power of covenant blessing obliterates every pattern and reveals grace to watching generations.
