"God won't use me for anything because I'm mentally broken"

How it sounds in your head: I see other guys leading worship or speaking at youth group and I can't even get through a week without crying. God uses strong, stable people. I'm too messed up to ever be used for His kingdom. My mental illness disqualified me from purpose.

2 Corinthians 12:9

"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

-- 2 Corinthians 12:9
Enemy whispers: God can't use broken people. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: 2 Corinthians 12:9 - God's strength is made PERFECT in weakness. Paul BOASTED in his weaknesses because that's where Christ's power showed up. God doesn't wait for you to get strong; He shows up IN your weakness. Moses stuttered, David had PTSD, Elijah was suicidal, Jeremiah had crippling anxiety—God used them ALL in their brokenness.
Quick Truth: LIE: Too broken to be used. TRUTH: God's strength is perfected in weakness. He uses the weak. 2 Cor 12:9

Religious teaching that God only uses perfect, put-together people, ignoring that every biblical hero was broken and God specializes in using the weak.

Why this feels true:

He hears testimonies from people who 'overcame' and now serve God, making it sound like you have to be healed before you're useful. His current brokenness feels like a disqualification letter from heaven.

Judges 6:12-15
Gideon

Gideon was hiding in fear, calling himself the weakest in his family, from the weakest clan in Israel. God called him 'mighty warrior' WHILE he was still hiding and afraid, then used him to defeat entire armies with just 300 men—God uses the terrified and weak.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that mental brokenness disqualifies me from purpose. IT IS WRITTEN that God's strength is made PERFECT in weakness—He doesn't wait for me to heal before He uses me. Moses stuttered and led a nation. David battled depression and wrote the Psalms. Paul had a thorn and wrote most of the New Testament. IT IS WRITTEN that God chose the WEAK things to shame the strong (1 Cor 1:27). My mental health struggle is not a DISQUALIFICATION; it's the exact weakness where His power shines. I am CALLED, CHOSEN, APPOINTED for purpose—the BARAK blessing declares I am the HEAD and not the TAIL, above and not beneath, even in my brokenness.

But God actually:

The Father sees you crying in your room thinking you're useless and He's whispering 'that's exactly where I do My best work—in broken vessels.' He's not waiting for you to fix yourself; He's already writing your story of redemption that will heal thousands.
