"God won't provide because I wasted money on alcohol and bad decisions for too many years."
How it sounds in your head: You drank away thousands. Made stupid financial choices. Gambled. Wasted what could have secured your future. Now you're facing the consequences. God's not going to bail out a fool who squandered his resources. You made your bed.
"Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord, though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
-- Isaiah 1:18Religious teaching that God's provision is conditional on past stewardship, making current need proof of deserved punishment.
The regret over money spent on substances and poor choices feels like a financial debt with God that must be repaid through suffering. Every shortage seems like justice for past waste.
Demanded inheritance early, blew it ALL on wild living and prostitutes, ended up broke and desperate in a pig pen. Father didn't give him a budget plan or make him work it off—ran to him, threw a party, fully restored him in approximately 15 minutes.
I REFUSE the lie that my past waste disqualifies me from present provision. IT IS WRITTEN that though my sins are scarlet, they are NOW white as snow—not after I earn it back. The prodigal wasted everything yet received instant restoration. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation in Christ Jesus. The BARAK blessing doesn't require a perfect financial history. My Father runs toward me with provision, not punishment. I receive breakthrough NOW.
The Father isn't making you pay back what you wasted—He's running toward you with the robe, ring, and feast while you still smell like the pig pen. Like the prodigal, your worst waste doesn't delay His best provision by even a single day.
