"I need to be 'wise with money' which means God won't just provide—I have to strategize."
How it sounds in your head: You attend the financial planning seminars, read the retirement books, listen to the experts tell you that faith without a strategy is foolishness. It feels irresponsible to just 'trust God' when you could be doing something productive with spreadsheets and investment plans.
"Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"
-- Matthew 6:26Source: World's financial wisdom (Dave Ramsey, Suze Orman, etc.) baptized as 'biblical stewardship,' making human strategy equal to or greater than God's provision.
Every responsible adult voice says the same thing—you need a plan, a budget, a strategy. Trusting God without doing 'your part' feels lazy and naive, like you're tempting God by not being practical.
God sent ravens to bring Elijah bread and meat twice daily during famine. No strategy, no planning, no 'doing his part'—just supernatural provision showing up morning and evening because God said so.
I REFUSE the lie that my strategy matters more than God's promise. IT IS WRITTEN that birds neither sow nor reap yet my Father feeds them—and I am of MORE VALUE. I don't receive provision because I budget correctly; I receive it because I'm Abraham's seed, blessed with the BARAK covenant blessing. The same God who sent ravens with food, who put coins in fish mouths, who rained manna from heaven—that God is MY Father. IT IS WRITTEN: the blessing of the LORD makes rich and adds no sorrow. Not my planning. HIS BLESSING. I am a branch abiding in the Vine—provision flows naturally from connection, not from my clever strategies.
Your Father isn't waiting for you to present the perfect financial plan before He moves—He's already feeding birds who can't even make spreadsheets. You are infinitely more precious to Him, and He's providing while you sleep, while you rest, while you simply abide.
