"God won't answer my prayers now because I'm divorced. I broke covenant, so He broke connection."
How it sounds in your head: My prayers feel like they hit the ceiling. I wonder if God screens His calls now and mine go to voicemail. Other people talk about hearing from God, but I feel like I lost my access when I signed those papers.
"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
-- Hebrews 4:16Teaching that divorce severs your connection to God, making you spiritually second-class with limited heavenly access.
Prayer already felt hard, and now you have a 'reason' for why God seems distant. The silence confirms the lie that you're cut off.
Rahab was a prostitute - actively sinning, not just divorced - when she cried out to God and hid the spies. God not only answered her prayer for deliverance but put her in the MESSIANIC LINE as the mother of Boaz and ancestor of Jesus.
I REFUSE the lie that divorce cut off my access to God. IT IS WRITTEN in Hebrews 4:16 that I can come BOLDLY to the throne of grace. Rahab was an active prostitute when God heard her cry and put her in Jesus' bloodline. IT IS WRITTEN in John 6:37 that Jesus will NEVER cast out the one who comes to Him. My access is based on the BLOOD OF JESUS, not my marital status. The veil was torn for me. I have a heavenly Father who RUNS toward me, not away from me. My prayers shake heaven because I'm His BELOVED daughter.
Your Father isn't screening your calls or making you wait in some spiritual timeout. The moment you breathe His name, you have His full attention. Your divorce didn't change your position as His child - you're still seated with Christ in heavenly places, still beloved, still heard.
