"God will be mad if I can't give a full 10%, so I shouldn't give anything"
How it sounds in your head: If the rule is 10% and I can only do 5%, then I'm disobeying either way. Better to not give at all than give wrong and make God angry. I'll wait until I can do it 'right' with a full tithe.
"For if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have."

She's been taught specific numbers and rules, so partial obedience feels like disobedience. If she can't meet the standard, why try? It feels safer to wait than fail.
She gave 2 mites (less than a penny), all she had to live on - not a calculated percentage but everything. Jesus didn't say 'that's not enough' or 'you needed 10%' - He said she gave MORE than everyone else and celebrated her INSTANT act of total trust.
I REFUSE the lie that God is mad if I can't hit 10%! IT IS WRITTEN that if there is a willing mind, it's accepted according to what I HAVE, not what I lack. The widow gave 2 cents and Jesus CELEBRATED her - He's not grading percentages, He's watching hearts. My 5% with joy is better than 10% with resentment. There is NO CONDEMNATION for those in Christ Jesus - God isn't angry, He's PLEASED with my willing heart. IT IS WRITTEN that she gave all she had and Jesus said that was MORE than anyone - my gladness matters more than my math. I am Abraham's seed, covered by BARAK blessing of acceptance NOT performance!
The Father isn't standing over you with a calculator checking if you hit 10% - He's celebrating that at 10 years old you WANT to give, that your heart is willing even when your wallet is small. Give what you can with JOY, and watch Him multiply that obedience into overflow beyond percentages.
