"God said no to my healing prayer, so I should stop asking."
How it sounds in your head: I've asked so many times and nothing changed. Maybe God's answer is no and I'm being annoying by keeping asking. Maybe I just need to accept this is His will for me.
"Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart."
-- Luke 18:1Religion taught that unanswered prayer means God said no, contradicting Jesus's command to ask, seek, knock - present continuous tense.
When healing doesn't come immediately, it feels like God already decided and continuing to ask is doubting His decision. It seems more spiritual to accept it than to keep pestering God.
Jesus initially seemed to say no, calling her a dog, but she PERSISTED and He said 'For this saying, the demon has gone out of your daughter' - her daughter was healed INSTANTLY because she wouldn't take no for an answer! Persistence brought breakthrough!
I REFUSE the lie that God said no to my healing! IT IS WRITTEN that I should ALWAYS pray and not lose heart - Jesus commanded PERSISTENCE, not resignation! The Syrophoenician woman persisted past the initial 'no' and her daughter was healed INSTANTLY! IT IS WRITTEN in Luke 18:1 to keep praying until breakthrough comes! My Father is not annoyed by my asking - He's PLEASED when I believe His promises enough to keep asking! I am Abraham's seed under the BARAK blessing - I keep asking because healing is my COVENANT RIGHT!
Your Father isn't ignoring your prayers - He's waiting for you to realize healing is ALREADY YOURS and you're not begging for a favor but RECEIVING what's already been given! He's running toward you saying 'It's already done at the cross!'
