"God only provides basics, not abundance—that would be greedy."
How it sounds in your head: It's spiritual to struggle and humble to have just enough. Wanting more than necessities is selfish and materialistic. Godly people are content with little and don't ask for abundance.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Religion has made poverty a virtue and abundance suspicious, twisting Scripture to make lack seem more holy than blessing.
Every sermon on money emphasizes contentment and warnings about loving money. Wanting financial abundance feels like proving you're worldly and not truly surrendered.
Called the friend of God and father of faith, Abraham was 'very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.' His wealth was so massive it caused conflict over land. God blessed him with ABUNDANCE, not just enough—and never rebuked him for it.
I REFUSE the lie that God only provides basics and abundance is greedy. IT IS WRITTEN: God's will is that I PROSPER in ALL THINGS, not just scrape by. Abraham, the friend of God, was VERY RICH in silver and gold—God gave ABUNDANCE and called it blessing. IT IS WRITTEN: The blessing of Abraham is mine through Christ. The Israelites left Egypt with GOLD and SILVER, not just bread for the journey. Deuteronomy 28 promises I will LEND TO MANY and be ABOVE ONLY—that's not poverty theology. God delights in the PROSPERITY of His servant.
Your Father isn't honored by your lack—He's honored when His children thrive and demonstrate His generosity. He's not stingy, and He doesn't want you to be. Right now He's ready to pour out blessing so abundant it silences the poverty gospel you've been taught.
