"God is too spiritual to care about my bills and mortgage—those are worldly concerns."
How it sounds in your head: God cares about souls and eternity, not whether I can pay the electric bill. Praying about finances feels selfish and unspiritual. I should focus on the Kingdom and just trust He'll somehow provide.
"Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
-- Matthew 6:31-33Source: Greek dualism that separates spiritual from physical, making God distant from daily practical needs, denying His nature as Jehovah Jireh who provides.
Spiritual teaching emphasizes eternal things over temporal, making him feel guilty for bringing 'small' financial needs to God. It seems more noble to suffer silently than to 'bother' God with bills.
God didn't just spiritually sustain Elijah during the drought—He sent RAVENS with BREAD AND MEAT twice a day. Physical, practical, daily provision, supernaturally delivered, because God cares about empty stomachs, not just empty souls.
I REFUSE the lie that God is too spiritual for my practical needs. IT IS WRITTEN: My heavenly Father KNOWS I need food, clothing, shelter—and promises ALL THESE THINGS added. He is Jehovah Jireh, THE PROVIDER, and provision is core to His covenant. IT IS WRITTEN: In EVERYTHING—including bills and mortgage—I make my requests known. The BARAK blessing covers my storehouses, my finances, my physical needs. God sent ravens with MEAT to feed Elijah because He cares about BODIES, not just souls. I boldly bring every need to my Father.
The Father isn't too busy with 'spiritual' things to notice your electric bill—He's already dispatched ravens with bread and meat before you even asked, because He delights in providing for His kids' EVERY need, physical and spiritual.
