"God must be teaching me something through this pain—I need to figure out the lesson."
How it sounds in your head: My youth pastor said God uses suffering to grow us. Maybe I'm being punished for something or need to learn patience. If I just understood the lesson, maybe the pain would stop. What am I missing?
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."
-- James 1:17Religious lie that makes Father the author of pain, confuses discipline with disease, old covenant thinking.
She's heard Job sermons and 'God's mysterious ways' teachings her whole life. Adults keep saying 'everything happens for a reason' and 'God won't waste your pain,' making her search for meaning in suffering.
Disciples asked whose sin caused his blindness—was God teaching him something? Jesus said 'Neither—this happened so God's works could be revealed.' Then Jesus IMMEDIATELY healed him instead of leaving him blind to 'learn lessons.'
I REFUSE the lie that my Father authors pain to teach me. IT IS WRITTEN: 'Every good and perfect gift is from above'—pain is neither. My Father is not bipolar, sending sickness to teach and healing to reward. IT IS WRITTEN: 'God did not send His Son to condemn the world but to SAVE it.' Jesus destroyed every disease He met without asking 'what's the lesson here?' I am under the BARAK blessing where 'the LORD will command the blessing on my body.' My teacher is the Holy Spirit, not pain.
Your Father isn't hiding lessons in your pain like a twisted scavenger hunt—He's grieving WITH you over what the enemy stole, longing to restore what was taken. He's not the professor assigning suffering; He's the Healer running toward you with the cure.
