"Pain medication is all I have left—there's no real cure for someone like me."
How it sounds in your head: The pills barely take the edge off anymore. I'm managing, not healing. This is just my reality now—maintenance mode until I die. At least I can function somewhat.
"For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds, says the LORD, because they called you an outcast, saying: This is Zion; no one seeks her."
-- Jeremiah 30:17Medical system's limitations presented as God's limitations, making pharmaceutical management the ceiling of hope.
When every doctor says 'chronic management' and insurance covers pills but not miracles, the medical verdict becomes the final word. Years of pharmaceutical dependence create mental surrender.
He'd been sick for 38 YEARS, waiting by a pool for a miracle that never came, with no one to help him. Jesus didn't prescribe better pain management—He said 'RISE, take up your bed and WALK,' and IMMEDIATELY the man was made well and walked.
I REFUSE the lie that medication management is my ceiling. IT IS WRITTEN that God will RESTORE health to me and HEAL me of my wounds—not patch me, not manage me, but HEAL me. I thank God for medicine as a tool, but I do not make it my savior. IT IS WRITTEN in Exodus 23:25 that He will take sickness AWAY from the midst of me. The BARAK blessing of Abraham includes divine health, and Christ redeemed me from the curse of infirmity. My body hears the Word of the Lord: BE HEALED. BE WHOLE. BE RESTORED. I am not a maintenance project—I am a daughter of the Most High, and He finishes what He starts.
The Father isn't asking you to settle for symptom management—He's offering the same resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead to quicken your mortal body (Romans 8:11). While medicine says 'this is the best we can do,' He says 'I'm not done YET.'
