"God let this happen, so I can't trust Him either."
How it sounds in your head: You prayed they'd stay. You asked God to protect the friendship. You trusted Him, and it fell apart anyway. If God let you get betrayed, what's the point of trusting Him with anything else?
"Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness."
-- Lamentations 3:22-23Enemy makes God the author of betrayal instead of the Redeemer of it, poisoning your relationship with the only One who'll never betray you.
The timing feels like proof—you prayed, believed, and still got hurt. If God is good and sovereign, why didn't He stop it? The theological tension feels unsolvable, so distrust feels logical.
Job lost everything—children, wealth, health—and his wife said 'curse God and die,' ultimate betrayal. Job said, 'Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him,' and God INSTANTLY restored double everything Job lost in one moment of breakthrough.
I REFUSE the lie that God authored this betrayal. IT IS WRITTEN that His mercies are NEW EVERY MORNING, and today's mercy is covering yesterday's wound. God gave people free will, and they chose betrayal—but He's choosing REDEMPTION. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and that means even this mess is being worked for my good (Romans 8:28). IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 34:18 that the LORD is near to the brokenhearted, and He's not distant—He's RUNNING toward me right now. The BARAK blessing that turned Joseph's betrayal into a palace turns my pain into PURPOSE. I trust the Father's HEART, not my circumstances.
The Father didn't betray you by allowing free will—He's redeeming it by running toward you with double restoration. Like Job receiving twice what he lost without answers to 'why,' you get breakthrough without needing the betrayal to make sense first.
