"Building walls is the only way to protect myself now."
How it sounds in your head: You can't afford another betrayal at this stage—one more could destroy you. Walls keep you safe. Distance protects. If you never let anyone close, they can't hurt you. It's just smart self-preservation.
"Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh."
-- Ezekiel 11:19Trauma/enemy—convincing you that isolation equals safety and that walls built in pain bring peace.
The pain from betrayal is still fresh, and at this age, recovery feels harder with less time and energy. Walls feel like the only control you have left.
Peter betrayed Jesus three times, then built walls of guilt and withdrew to fishing—done with ministry and relationship. Jesus appeared on the beach, made breakfast, and asked Peter three times if he loved Him—instant restoration with no process, no probation, full commissioning to 'feed My sheep' immediately.
I REFUSE the lie that walls protect me or that isolation equals safety. IT IS WRITTEN that God takes the stony heart and gives a heart of flesh—He's healing my brokenness, not hardening me. The BARAK blessing includes divine protection WITHOUT self-imposed isolation. I am a WARRIOR with a flesh heart, not a stone heart. IT IS WRITTEN that He heals the brokenhearted and binds up wounds. Jesus had an open heart AFTER Judas betrayed Him. I am a covenant son whose protection comes from God's presence, not self-built walls. The Father is giving me courage to trust and love again in my final years.
The Father sees you building walls like Peter withdrawing to his boat, and He's making you breakfast on the beach—meeting you in isolation to gently remove every stone and restore your heart to flesh. He's not waiting for you to come out; He's coming IN with commissioning and purpose, asking only 'Do you love Me?' and restoring you fully before you finish the question.
