"The version of me that trusted people was naive and weak. I need to become harder to survive."
How it sounds in your head: The girl who believed the best in people, who gave second chances, who loved openly—she got destroyed. I can't afford to be her anymore. I need to become cynical, guarded, tough. Soft doesn't survive in this world.
"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh."
-- Ezekiel 36:26Enemy strategy to kill your God-given tenderness by rebranding it as weakness, making you trade your design for self-protection.
The correlation between openness and pain makes it seem like tenderness itself is the flaw to be eliminated rather than a gift that was mishandled by unsafe people.
On the night before His execution, knowing Judas would betray Him and Peter deny Him, Jesus wept in the garden—so intensely He sweat blood. He stayed TENDER even in betrayal. The strongest person who ever lived never became hard; He stayed vulnerable to the end.
I REFUSE the lie that hardness is survival. IT IS WRITTEN that God takes hearts of STONE and gives hearts of FLESH—He wants me TENDER, not tough. My softness is NOT weakness; it's the image of God in me. IT IS WRITTEN that blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth—Jesus Himself was meek and lowly, and He conquered death. I will NOT trade my design for self-protection. I walk in the BARAK blessing where God is my SHIELD and my EXCEEDING GREAT REWARD—He protects my tenderness while I stay true to who He made me. The world needs my softness; it's the enemy who wants me hard.
The Father is heartbroken at this thought. He's holding your face and saying, 'Please don't let them kill the softness I put in you. That tenderness is MY reflection. Let Me protect it while you stay exactly who I made you to be—SOFT, LOVING, OPEN. That's not your flaw, baby. That's your glory.'
