"God isn't answering because I haven't prayed long enough or faithfully enough."
How it sounds in your head: Other guys seem to get breakthrough after a 30-day prayer challenge. I've been praying for months—years even—and nothing. Maybe I'm not disciplined enough. Maybe I need to wake up at 5am like those Instagram pastors.
"And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him."
-- Matthew 6:7-8Religion teaching that prayer is about duration and discipline rather than relationship and Jesus' finished work.
He sees friends post about 'God showed up after I committed to pray every day for 40 days' and wonders what he's doing wrong. His prayers feel like they're hitting the ceiling while others seem to have a direct line.
Bartimaeus was a blind beggar who had probably prayed for years with no answer. One encounter with Jesus—one desperate shout—and he IMMEDIATELY received his sight. No prayer journal, no 40-day fast, just raw faith meeting finished work.
I REFUSE the lie that God measures my prayers by length or consistency. IT IS WRITTEN: my Father knows what I need before I ask, and He doesn't require vain repetitions. I am not heard because of many words but because of Jesus' blood. IT IS WRITTEN: the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous avails much, and I AM the righteousness of God in Christ. My access to the Father is based on covenant, not on how early I wake up or how long I kneel. The BARAK blessing of Abraham is mine—God answered him instantly multiple times, even when Abraham was lying to kings.
Your Father isn't checking your prayer time log. He's running toward you with the answer before the words even leave your mouth, because Jesus already paid for every breakthrough you're asking for.
