"God is withholding children because I'm not ready or worthy"
How it sounds in your head: Maybe God sees something you don't—some character flaw that needs fixing before He'll trust you with a child. Perhaps you need to be more spiritual, more mature, more financially stable. You're not ready yet.
"But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet'"
-- Luke 15:22Performance theology making God's gifts contingent on human readiness rather than His nature.
The wait feels like divine hesitation, and religious voices suggest God's testing your readiness. You can always find areas you're not 'good enough' yet, making the lie seem wise rather than demonic.
Zechariah was literally in the temple serving God when the angel appeared, yet he DOUBTED the promise and was struck mute for unbelief. Despite his doubt, Elizabeth conceived anyway—God's promise didn't depend on Zechariah's perfect faith or readiness.
I REFUSE the lie that God withholds until I'm worthy. IT IS WRITTEN that the Father gave full restoration to the son covered in pig filth—no waiting, no probation, immediate blessing. My readiness is NOT the issue; His PROMISE is. I am righteous by GIFT, not achievement. IT IS WRITTEN that it's by grace through faith, not of works. I receive children as COVENANT BLESSING under the BARAK, not as reward for maturity. God doesn't wait for perfect parents—He never gets any. I am QUALIFIED by Christ's blood, not my character development.
The Father isn't waiting for you to get your act together—He's already releasing the blessing while you're still figuring things out. He trusted broken people with children throughout Scripture because parenting was never about perfection, only connection to Him.
