"God is waiting until I'm holy enough or have confessed every hidden sin first."
How it sounds in your head: I'm examining my whole life for what I did wrong. Maybe there's unforgiveness I forgot, some sin from 1963 I never confessed. God won't answer until my slate is perfectly clean.
"Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more."
-- Hebrews 10:17Religion teaching God is a grudge-holding auditor instead of a Father who ran to the prodigal covered in pig filth.
Preachers said 'unconfessed sin blocks prayer' for 70 years. At 90+, the memory is fuzzy - what if there's something buried I CAN'T remember that's blocking everything?
She had five husbands and was living with a man who wasn't her husband - blatant ongoing sin. Jesus didn't say 'confess everything first.' He offered LIVING WATER immediately and made her an evangelist that same afternoon.
I REFUSE the lie that God is withholding until I'm clean enough. IT IS WRITTEN that He remembers my sins NO MORE - they were nailed to the cross 2000 years ago. I am not awaiting trial; I'm seated with Christ in heavenly places RIGHT NOW. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO condemnation for those in Christ. My prayers are heard because of JESUS' blood, not my memory or perfection. I stand in the BARAK blessing not by behavior but by COVENANT. I receive answers NOW as a beloved daughter, fully righteous, fully heard.
The Father isn't checking your sin inventory before opening His arms. He sees you through Jesus' blood - ALREADY perfect, ALREADY righteous, ALREADY heard. The work is FINISHED.
