"God is using my illness to bring glory to Himself through my suffering witness."
How it sounds in your head: Your suffering is your testimony. People see God's strength in your weakness. If you were healed, you'd lose your platform to show others how to endure. Your pain has purpose—it points people to Jesus. Healing would actually diminish your witness.
"When Jesus heard that, He said, 'This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.'"
-- John 11:4Twisted theology that makes God the author of affliction for evangelistic purposes, contradicting the entire healing ministry of Jesus who never left people sick for witness.
People have told you they're inspired by how you handle your sickness. You've been able to comfort others going through similar struggles. It feels selfish to want healing when your suffering is 'being used.'
Pharisees watched to see if Jesus would heal on the Sabbath, hoping to accuse Him. Jesus didn't say 'keep your withered hand as a witness to God's sustaining grace'—He told him to stretch it out, and it was INSTANTLY restored, whole as the other.
I REFUSE the lie that God is glorified by my continued sickness. IT IS WRITTEN that when Jesus encountered sickness for God's glory, He HEALED it. Lazarus's story glorified God through RESURRECTION, not prolonged death. Jesus never left anyone sick as a testimony to endurance. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 103:3 that He forgives ALL sins and heals ALL diseases—both bring Him glory. I am Abraham's seed under the BARAK blessing that includes health. My HEALING will be my testimony, showing God's goodness and finished work. I receive complete restoration NOW.
Your Father doesn't keep you sick to make you a better evangelist—He heals you to demonstrate His goodness. The prodigal's father didn't leave him in rags to show neighbors how grace endures poverty; he clothed him in the finest robe immediately to show what restoration looks like.
