"God is testing my faith by keeping me in financial lack during retirement."
How it sounds in your head: You've served faithfully for decades. You gave, you tithed, you trusted. Now you're facing lean years and some voice says this must be God refining you, testing your trust, seeing if you'll still praise Him with less. It feels spiritual to accept it.
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."
-- James 1:17Source: Religion's Job theology—making God the author of every hardship and calling suffering a test of faithfulness rather than enemy attack.
Church taught you that trials prove your faith, that God uses hardship to grow you. After a lifetime of serving, it seems more spiritual to accept lack than to fight it. Plus, admitting it's enemy attack means admitting you've been robbed.
After Satan (not God) attacked Job, God didn't leave him in loss saying 'you passed the test.' God gave Job TWICE as much as he had before—double restoration was God's heart, not continued suffering.
I REFUSE the lie that my Father is testing me with lack. IT IS WRITTEN that every GOOD gift comes from above—lack is not a gift, it's theft. Jesus came to give ABUNDANT life; the thief comes to steal. I will not call enemy robbery 'God's test.' I am under the BARAK blessing of Abraham—blessed in my storehouses, in all I set my hand to. Christ redeemed me from the CURSE of poverty and sickness. IT IS WRITTEN: Deuteronomy 28:11 - 'The LORD will grant you abundant prosperity.' Not as a test's reward but as covenant reality. My Father isn't withholding to prove me; He's running toward me with ring, robe, and abundance.
Your Father isn't the cosmic professor giving you a poverty exam to see if you still love Him—He's the Dad who killed the fattened calf while you were still far off. Every moment of lack grieves Him because He already paid for your abundance through Jesus.
