"God is silent because I need to learn something or be tested first."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe this silence is part of the process. Maybe God is building character, testing your faithfulness, seeing if you'll trust Him even without answers. Maybe the lesson IS the silence. Maybe you're supposed to figure something out before He'll speak again.
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."
-- James 1:17Source: Religion teaching that God intentionally withholds to teach lessons, making the Father sound like a stoic coach rather than a good Dad.
You've heard a hundred sermons about wilderness seasons and testing. It gives meaning to the silence—maybe it's purposeful rather than random. At least if there's a lesson, there's eventual graduation.
Ethiopian eunuch was reading Isaiah, confused about meaning. He didn't have to wait for character development or testing season. God IMMEDIATELY sent Philip to run alongside his chariot and explain the Scripture—instant answer to unspoken question, same day baptism and salvation.
I REFUSE the lie that God withholds to test me. IT IS WRITTEN that every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights who does NOT vary or change His goodness. My Father doesn't play games with silence or hide answers to teach lessons. He is GOOD, and He gives GOOD GIFTS freely. IT IS WRITTEN that if I being evil know how to give good gifts, how much MORE does my Father give to me. I am not in divine detention waiting to learn something. I am a SON at the Father's table. The BARAK blessing is mine NOW by covenant, not after I pass some test. I declare my Father is speaking, providing, and moving RIGHT NOW.
Your Father isn't standing back with arms folded waiting for you to learn something before He'll engage. He's like the father who ran to the prodigal—not after the son proved himself, not after confession was complete, but WHILE HE WAS STILL FAR OFF. Your Father is running toward you with answers, not testing you with silence.
