"God is punishing my parents for past mistakes by withholding children from them."
How it sounds in your head: Dad made mistakes before marriage. Mom had that abortion years ago. Maybe God is making them pay for those sins by keeping them from having more kids. Their past is blocking their future.
"As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us."
-- Psalm 103:12Religion teaching God holds grudges and makes people pay for forgiven sin - denying the finished work of the cross.
He's overheard adult conversations about past regrets and may have connected dots between parental guilt and current infertility. Religious teaching about 'reaping what you sow' makes it seem like God operates on delayed punishment system.
Rahab was a prostitute - sold her body for money, broke every purity law. God placed her in the MESSIANIC LINE and gave her children who became Jesus' ancestors - immediate inclusion, zero punishment.
I REFUSE the lie that God punishes forgiven people by withholding children! IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 103:12 that God has removed their sins as far as east from west - which means past mistakes are GONE, not held against them. My parents stand before God in the righteousness of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21), not their history, which means they qualify for EVERY blessing including fruitfulness. The BARAK blessing protected Abraham even when he LIED TWICE - got richer both times - because covenant isn't based on behavior! IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:1 there is NO condemnation in Christ - which means God isn't withholding anything as punishment. Rahab went from prostitute to Jesus' great-grandmother with ZERO delay - grace doesn't make people pay first!
The Father isn't reviewing your parents' past - He's running toward them with the robe of righteousness already extended, celebrating their fruitfulness before they conceive. Like the prodigal covered in pig smell getting the ring anyway, their history doesn't slow His blessing one second.
