"God is punishing my family financially because of something we did wrong."
How it sounds in your head: Your dad hasn't been to church in months. Your parents aren't tithing like they used to. Maybe someone sinned and this is payback. Maybe God's mad and this is how He shows it.
"For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."
-- John 3:17Religious teaching of karma-Christianity, making God transactional instead of relational, punishment-focused instead of grace-flowing.
The timing lines up—money got tight after your family stopped doing certain 'spiritual' things. Seems like cause and effect.
Israel COMPLAINED, built a golden calf, rebelled constantly for 40 years—and God STILL provided manna every single morning and kept their clothes and shoes from wearing out. He fed rebels. Provision wasn't based on behavior—it was based on COVENANT.
I REFUSE the lie that God is punishing my family with poverty. IT IS WRITTEN God did NOT send Jesus to condemn but to SAVE, and there is NO condemnation in Christ Jesus. Financial struggle is part of the CURSE, and Galatians 3:13 says Christ REDEEMED us from that curse. IT IS WRITTEN the BARAK blessing is COVENANT, not conduct—Abraham lied and got richer, Jacob deceived and stayed blessed. My Father is not withholding in anger—He's providing in LOVE. I am Abraham's seed, blessed coming in and going out, and the Lord commands blessing on everything I set my hand to.
The Father isn't punishing you—He's running toward you like the prodigal's father, and He's been preparing the turnaround while you thought He was angry. His nature is GIVER, not withholder, and even when Israel rebelled, He fed them every single day for 40 years.
