"God's showing me I relied on my job too much instead of trusting Him."

How it sounds in your head: Maybe I made work an idol. Maybe I was too confident in my salary. God had to remove it to teach me dependence. This is a wilderness season to break my self-reliance. I need to learn this lesson before He'll restore provision.

James 1:17

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."

-- James 1:17
Enemy whispers: God took your job to teach you a lesson. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: James 1:17 - Every GOOD gift is from above, from the Father of lights, with whom there is NO variation or shadow of turning. God doesn't give jobs then take them to teach lessons - He's not a bait-and-switch Father. IT IS WRITTEN in John 10:10 - The THIEF comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come that they may have LIFE. Job loss is the THIEF, not the Father's curriculum. The prodigal's father didn't orchestrate the pig pen to teach dependence - he RAN when the son came home.
Quick Truth: LIE: God took my job to teach me. TRUTH: Every good gift is from above - He doesn't give then take to teach. (James 1:17)

Religious teaching making God the author of suffering and requiring learned lessons before breakthrough.

Why this feels true:

Christian culture constantly frames hardship as divine curriculum, and he'd rather believe God is teaching him than believe God isn't in control.

Luke 15:11-24
Prodigal Son

Blew his inheritance on prostitutes and ended up feeding pigs in poverty. The father didn't orchestrate the pig pen as a lesson - he was WATCHING for his return. When the son came home, the father RAN, threw a party, and restored everything instantly - no lecture, no waiting period, no 'now you've learned your lesson.'

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that God took my job to teach me lessons. IT IS WRITTEN that every GOOD gift is from above, from a Father with NO shadow of turning - He doesn't give then take. IT IS WRITTEN the THIEF comes to steal - job loss is the thief, not divine curriculum. God is not withholding to break me. He's the Father who RAN to the prodigal without waiting for lessons learned. I don't need to learn more to receive. The BARAK blessing isn't unlocked by spiritual maturity - it protected murderers and liars. My provision is coming NOW, not after some waiting period.

But God actually:

The Father didn't orchestrate your unemployment as a classroom - He's the God who gives good gifts and doesn't take them back to teach lessons. He's running toward you with restoration right now, not waiting for you to learn something first.
