"God is frustrated with how long it's taking me to grow up spiritually"
How it sounds in your head: I've been a Christian for years but still struggle with basics. Still have doubts. Still don't pray enough. God must be exasperated watching me stumble through the same elementary lessons.
"A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth."
-- Isaiah 42:3Performance-based discipleship models that grade spiritual growth like school, making relationship with God feel like a class you're failing.
Other believers seem further along and your progress feels embarrassingly slow. Every struggle feels like proof you're the slow learner disappointing the Divine Teacher.
This man had ZERO spiritual maturity, no discipleship, no growth process, and was literally dying as a criminal. Jesus said 'TODAY you will be with Me in Paradise'—instant salvation with no spiritual development required.
I REFUSE the lie that God grades my spiritual growth or compares my progress to others. IT IS WRITTEN He will not break the bruised reed or quench the smoking flax. He's not frustrated—He's FAITHFUL to complete what He started in me. I am a branch abiding in the Vine, and fruit comes from CONNECTION, not striving. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO condemnation for those in Christ. The BARAK blessing protected Jacob even when he was a deceiver, still spiritually immature. My Father isn't exasperated. He's committed.
The Father doesn't have a spiritual report card for you. The thief on the cross went from criminal to Paradise in hours—no maturity process, just grace that meets you exactly where you are.
