"God is angry I haven't conquered this weight/body issue"
How it sounds in your head: My body is a temple, right? I should have self-control by now. All the prayers, the starts and stops with diets. God must be frustrated that I can't get this together.
"For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
-- 1 Samuel 16:7Source: Diet culture merged with religious shame, making body size a measure of spiritual maturity and God's approval.
She's heard 'your body is a temple' weaponized into body-shaming. Every new year brings church fitness challenges that imply God cares about her pants size. Her worth feels tied to her weight.
She was ceremonially unclean, physically weak, probably malnourished from twelve years of bleeding. Jesus didn't say 'get healthy first'—He said 'Daughter, your faith has made you well,' and she was INSTANTLY healed.
I REFUSE the lie that God's love is conditional on my body size. IT IS WRITTEN God looks at my HEART, not my outward appearance. I am the righteousness of God IN CHRIST—a gift, not earned by physical appearance. The BARAK blessing covers me completely, spirit, soul, AND body. IT IS WRITTEN I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I declare: God is not angry—He is DELIGHTED with me, His daughter, exactly as I am right now.
The Father isn't waiting for you to lose weight before He embraces you—He's already holding you close, whispering 'beloved.' Like the prodigal's father, He doesn't say 'shower first'—He runs to you NOW, robe ready.
