"God is angry I didn't trust Him more when I had the chance"
How it sounds in your head: So many times fear won and I chose worry over faith. All those sleepless nights, all that anxiety—I knew better but couldn't seem to trust Him. Now at the end, I see how little I actually believed, and He must be so disappointed in my weak faith.
"A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth."
-- Isaiah 42:3Religion's teaching that faith is a work you perform to earn God's pleasure, making God's response dependent on the quality of your trust rather than the finished work of the cross.
A lifetime of memories proves every instance of anxiety, every panic, every failure to rest in His promises. The contrast between who you wanted to be in faith and who you actually were feels like evidence of spiritual failure.
Walked on water then immediately doubted and sank in fear. Jesus didn't rebuke his failure—He reached out His hand INSTANTLY and saved him, then still made him the rock on which the church was built.
I REFUSE the lie that God is angry about my fearful moments. IT IS WRITTEN that a bruised reed He will not break—my flickering faith was never rejected but tenderly protected. My worth is not in the strength of my trust but in the strength of His grip on me. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus, and that includes every anxious night and every failure to rest. He saw every fear, and instead of disappointment, He held me through it. I am His daughter, loved in my weakness, kept by His power, not mine.
The Father isn't keeping a fear scoreboard—He's been the one whispering 'I've got you' through every anxious moment. He doesn't love you more when you trust well; He loves you with the same ferocious tenderness in your panic attacks as in your peace.
