"God gives faith to some people but not to me; I'm just not wired for strong belief"
How it sounds in your head: Some people seem born with this natural ability to trust God easily. I'm just not like that—maybe faith is a personality type or spiritual gift, and I got skipped. Like I'm wired to be logical and skeptical, not trusting and believing. Maybe strong faith just isn't in my DNA.
"For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith."
-- Romans 12:3Misunderstanding of faith as an inherent trait rather than a gift freely given and grown through relationship, creating false predestination of doubt.
You see friends who seem naturally trusting while you question everything. It feels like they got the 'faith gene' and you got the 'skeptical gene,' making you spiritually disadvantaged from birth. Your personality feels like a barrier to the faith you need.
Zechariah was a PRIEST serving in the temple when an ANGEL appeared and told him his wife would have a baby. His response? 'How can I be SURE?' So skeptical even angels weren't enough. God temporarily took his voice but didn't take the promise—the baby came exactly as promised, proving God works even with naturally skeptical people.
I REFUSE the lie that faith is a personality trait I lack. IT IS WRITTEN that God has dealt to EACH ONE a measure of faith—I have already been GIVEN this gift; I'm not trying to manufacture it. I am not disadvantaged by my logical mind; God MADE me this way and will meet my need for truth with HIS truth. I am not waiting to become 'the trusting type'; I am GROWING faith through hearing God's Word. IT IS WRITTEN that even skeptical priests like Zechariah received promises from angels and still doubted—yet God fulfilled every word. I walk in the BARAK blessing not because of my natural temperament but because of COVENANT—Abraham questioned, Sarah laughed, Jacob schemed—all blessed because covenant isn't conditional on personality. My Father knows how He wired me and loves meeting my skeptical mind with undeniable truth.
The Father didn't mess up when He made you with a questioning mind. He actually LOVES that you want real, solid truth instead of flimsy feelings, and He's not intimidated by your need for evidence—He's ready to show you proof after proof of His goodness until your logical brain has NO choice but to trust Him completely.
