"God gave me this struggle with unemployment to build character and humility."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe I was too proud before and God is humbling me by letting me fail at job searching. All those sermons about trials producing perseverance—this must be my Romans 5:3 season. If I could just learn the lesson faster, maybe He'd end it. I need to embrace the suffering.
"For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil."
-- 1 John 3:8Source: Religious teaching that God authors hardship to fix us, making suffering a divine tool rather than something Jesus came to destroy.
She's heard countless sermons about 'what God is teaching you through this' and the struggle feels purposeful because pastors framed all hardship as divine curriculum. The longer it lasts, the more she assumes she's failing the test.
She suffered for 12 YEARS, spent all her money on doctors, and got worse. Jesus didn't say 'I gave you this to build character'—He said 'Daughter, your FAITH has made you well. Go in PEACE.' Mark 5:29 says she was healed IMMEDIATELY. Jesus came to END suffering, not prolong it for lessons.
I REFUSE the lie that God authored my unemployment to teach me lessons. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus came to DESTROY the devil's works, and lack is the devil's work, not the Father's curriculum. My character comes from CHRIST IN ME, not from unemployment. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus came to give me ABUNDANT LIFE, and abundance includes provision, purpose, and employment. The BARAK blessing flows from COVENANT, not from character-building suffering. I am Abraham's seed, blessed coming in and going out. The Father isn't withholding to humble me—He's RUNNING toward me with breakthrough because I'm His beloved child. Provision is released NOW.
The Father isn't orchestrating your unemployment as a classroom—He's grieved by it and actively working to END it. While religion says 'learn the lesson,' the Father says 'you're already righteous in Christ; let Me give you the breakthrough you've been crying for,' and He's not waiting for you to become humble enough to deserve it.
