"God doesn't work that way anymore—we have doctors and medicine now instead of miracles."
How it sounds in your head: You're grateful for medical advances and wonder if miracles were just God's plan before modern healthcare. Maybe supernatural healing was a substitute for what medicine does now. Maybe expecting both is greedy.
"For I am the LORD, I do not change; therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob."
-- Malachi 3:6Source: Enlightenment thinking that positioned science as God's replacement rather than His tool.
Medicine works—you've seen surgeries save lives, medications manage conditions. It seems logical that God would use modern tools instead of direct intervention, less disruptive to natural order.
Isaiah told him, 'Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live'—terminal diagnosis from God's own prophet. Hezekiah wept and prayed. God sent Isaiah BACK with a reversal: 'I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; I will heal you. I will add 15 years to your life.' Instant divine override of a death sentence.
I REFUSE the lie that God replaced miracles with medicine. IT IS WRITTEN: I am the LORD, I do not change—He didn't downgrade His methods or retire His supernatural power. Medicine is a GIFT, but God is not LIMITED to it. IT IS WRITTEN: I am the God who heals you. Hezekiah received a death sentence from God's prophet and got 15 YEARS added—divine reversal of medical impossibility. I receive BOTH medicine and miracles because my Father holds all power.
The Father who invented your body's immune system and gave humans wisdom for medicine isn't choosing between tools. He's running toward you with EVERY resource—natural and supernatural—because limiting His methods limits His love, and His love has no limits for you.
