"God doesn't need my money—He owns everything, so my small gift doesn't matter."
How it sounds in your head: Look at your checkbook. What's twenty or fifty dollars to the God who created galaxies? Your contribution is a drop in the ocean, statistically irrelevant. The church budget is millions—your widow's pension won't even register. Why pretend it makes a difference?
"So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.'"
-- Mark 12:43-44Source: Enemy—using humility as a disguise for unbelief, making you focus on the GIFT instead of the HEART of the Giver who multiplies seeds.
The math supports it—your Social Security check divided by ten is laughably small compared to wealthy donors' contributions. It feels more honest to admit insignificance than to pretend your pittance matters.
A boy had five small barley loaves and two fish—Andrew said 'What are they among so many?' implying total inadequacy. Jesus took the 'insignificant' lunch, blessed it, and fed over 5,000 people with TWELVE BASKETS LEFT OVER—the multiplication wasn't about the size of the seed but the power of the Multiplier.
I REFUSE the lie that my gift is too small to matter to God. IT IS WRITTEN that the widow's two mites were counted as MORE than the wealthy gave, because God measures the heart, not the amount. My seed may look small in the natural, but in the hands of the God who fed 5,000 from a boy's lunch, NOTHING is insignificant! IT IS WRITTEN that He gives seed to the sower and multiplies the seed sown. I am a conduit of heaven's economy, and the BARAK blessing doesn't calculate based on my bank balance—it flows based on my covenant position in Christ. What I release in faith, God multiplies in power!
Your Father doesn't glance at your offering and yawn because it's not a six-figure check—He leans forward like He did with the widow, calling angels to witness the magnitude of your trust. Like the father who threw a feast for the prodigal who returned with NOTHING, God celebrates your heart's surrender, not your wallet's capacity.
