"God doesn't do supernatural healing anymore—we have doctors and medicine now."
How it sounds in your head: They say God gave us medical science so we don't need miracles anymore, like He outsourced healing to hospitals. That makes my prayers feel pointless—like I should just trust the prescription and stop hoping for anything more. God seems like He stepped back once we invented antibiotics.
"And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."
-- Mark 16:17-18Source: World—rationalism and naturalism that dismiss the supernatural, making science God's replacement instead of His tool.
Everyone you know goes to doctors and takes medicine, and they treat prayer like a nice addition, not the main event. When someone gets cancer, church prays but really trusts chemo—like God needs backup.
Tabitha died—not sick, DEAD—and the mourners had already washed her body for burial. Peter prayed, told her 'Tabitha, arise,' and she IMMEDIATELY opened her eyes, sat up, and was presented ALIVE to the believers.
I REFUSE the lie that God outsourced healing to medicine or that the supernatural stopped when we invented hospitals. IT IS WRITTEN that these signs follow those who BELIEVE—laying hands on the sick and they RECOVER—and I am a believer. Medicine is a gift, but God is the SOURCE, and He hasn't retired from miraculous intervention. I am under the BARAK blessing, redeemed from the curse of sickness through Christ's blood. IT IS WRITTEN in 1 Peter 2:24 that by His stripes I WAS healed—past tense, already done. I receive both doctors as tools AND God as the Healer who still does the impossible TODAY.
Your Father isn't intimidated by medical diagnoses or limited by what doctors can do. He's running toward you with healing in His wings, not waiting for you to choose between faith and medicine—He's BIGGER than both and uses whatever reveals His goodness.
