"If healing was for today, more Christians would be healed. The fact that most aren't proves it's not promised."
How it sounds in your head: I look around my church and everyone my age is on multiple medications. Prayer chains are full of sick people who stay sick. If healing was really available, wouldn't we see more results? Maybe it's just not God's plan for most people.
"Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief."
-- Matthew 13:58Source: Experiential theology that makes human failure the measure of God's promises rather than Scripture truth.
His church experience shows little healing, most Christians he knows have chronic conditions, and using experience to interpret Scripture sounds practical rather than presumptuous.
Crowd tried to silence him, told him to accept his condition. He ignored their unbelief and cried out louder. Jesus stopped, called him, and IMMEDIATELY he received sight - his faith activated what the crowd's religion denied was available.
I REFUSE the lie that lack of results proves healing isn't available. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus didn't do many mighty works in His own hometown because of THEIR unbelief - the limitation was faith, not availability. Dead Christianity doesn't prove absent promises; it proves absent POWER from unbelief. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus healed ALL who came to Him - the promise stands regardless of who fails to believe it. Bartimaeus received sight while the religious crowd tried to silence him. I won't let powerless religion determine what God offers. His Word promises healing; I believe it despite what I see around me.
The Father isn't limited by weak theology in dead churches - He's looking for even one person who will believe His promises over religious experience, running toward you with the healing others have rejected through unbelief. Your faith can access what others deny.
