"God didn't bless my business so He must not have wanted me to do it."
How it sounds in your head: If God was in it, it would have worked. The failure means I missed His will or He wasn't supporting it. Maybe I was being selfish or wrong all along.
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
-- Jeremiah 29:11Source: religious teaching that equates difficulty with God's disapproval and success with His blessing - prosperity gospel in reverse.
She was taught that God blesses what He approves, so the business failing feels like divine rejection or proof she missed His will. The outcome seems like God's verdict.
Had dreams from God, then got thrown in a pit, sold into slavery, falsely accused, and imprisoned for years. Every circumstance screamed 'God abandoned you' but he ended up second in command of Egypt, saving nations. The 'failure' years were setup, not abandonment.
I REFUSE the lie that God didn't bless my business so He must not have wanted me to do it. IT IS WRITTEN that His thoughts toward me are of peace and hope, to give me a future. Temporary outcomes don't define His approval or disapproval - His NATURE defines His posture toward me. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed in the city and field, coming in and going out, and the Lord commands blessing on all I set my hand to. One business closing doesn't mean He's closed heaven over my life. He's RUNNING toward me with the next chapter, not backing away in disapproval.
Your Father isn't withholding blessing because the business didn't work - He's already planning your promotion. Like Joseph who went from prison to palace in one day, apparent setback is often divine setup for breakthrough you couldn't access any other way.
