"God could have stopped the divorce but didn't, so He doesn't really love me."

How it sounds in your head: If He really cared, He would have fixed it. He has all power but didn't use it for me. Maybe He loves other people more. Maybe I don't matter enough to Him.

Romans 8:38-39

"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

-- Romans 8:38-39
Enemy whispers: If God loved you, He'd have stopped the divorce. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Romans 8:38-39 - 'NOTHING shall be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.' Not death, not life, not ANYTHING. Your parents' divorce doesn't separate you from His love. IT IS WRITTEN that His love is UNCHANGEABLE. He couldn't override free will without becoming a dictator, but His love for YOU never wavered one second. Nothing - including this - separates you from His love.
Quick Truth: LIE: God doesn't love you. TRUTH: NOTHING separates you from His unchangeable love. Romans 8:38-39

Enemy - uses God's respect for free will to create doubt about His love and power.

Why this feels true:

She knows God is all-powerful, knows He could have changed hearts, watched Him not do it. The logic seems ironclad: power + didn't act = doesn't care enough.

John 11:5-6
Lazarus

Jesus LOVED Lazarus but intentionally stayed away and let him die. Looked like abandonment or lack of care. But Jesus was setting up the greatest miracle - resurrection - and proving His love wasn't measured by preventing pain but by His presence and power IN it.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that God doesn't love me because He didn't stop the divorce. IT IS WRITTEN that NOTHING can separate me from His love. Not this. Not anything. His love isn't measured by what He prevents but by WHO HE IS. IT IS WRITTEN in Jeremiah 31:3 that He loves me with an EVERLASTING love. The Father's love for me is not conditional on circumstances - it's UNCHANGEABLE. The BARAK blessing is LOVE in action - pursuing me with goodness. I declare: I am DEEPLY LOVED, and nothing can change that.

But God actually:

The Father watched your pain and couldn't override free will without violating what makes love real - choice - but He never stopped loving you for one millisecond, and He's running toward you NOW with tear-stained cheeks and arms full of comfort, whispering 'I was there every moment, and I'm HERE now with everything you need.'
