"God won't answer my prayers anymore because I broke my marriage covenant."
How it sounds in your head: Prayer feels empty now. I made vows before God and broke them, so why would He listen to me? Other people's prayers get answered, but I forfeited that access when the divorce papers were signed.
"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
-- Hebrews 4:16Source: Enemy twisting covenant language to make marriage failure override the BETTER covenant sealed in Jesus' blood, as if human covenant breaking cancels divine covenant keeping.
He remembers making sacred vows and feels like a covenant-breaker. When prayers seem unanswered, he assumes it's because God has closed His ears to him due to the divorce.
Manasseh was Judah's most evil king—practiced witchcraft, sacrificed his own sons to demons, filled Jerusalem with innocent blood. When he finally prayed from captivity, God IMMEDIATELY heard him, restored him to Jerusalem, and gave him another chance to reign. No probation period.
I REFUSE the lie that God won't hear my prayers. IT IS WRITTEN that I can come BOLDLY to the throne of grace. My access is not earned by perfect behavior but granted by Jesus' perfect sacrifice. IT IS WRITTEN in John 16:23 that whatever I ask the Father in Jesus' name, He will give me. I am not disqualified from answered prayer—I am invited into constant communion with the Father who loves me. My broken marriage doesn't override the unbreakable covenant sealed in blood. I pray with confidence, not condemnation.
Your Father isn't screening your prayers based on your past. Every time you pray, Jesus Himself is standing beside you as your Advocate, presenting your requests as if He's making them. You're heard because HE's heard, and you're in Him.
