"God can't use me for great things because I'm not smart or talented enough."
How it sounds in your head: Look at who God uses—people with gifts, intelligence, abilities. You're average at best. God needs skilled people for His plans, and you don't make the cut. Stay small where you belong.
"So he answered and said to me: 'This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.'"
-- Zechariah 4:6Meritocracy lie that God's kingdom operates like world systems where talent determines usefulness.
Every 'God is doing something through this teen' story features someone with obvious talent. He feels like he has nothing special to offer, nothing that stands out.
Amos was a shepherd and a fig farmer—no theological training, no prophetic lineage. God pulled him from the fields and made him a prophet to kings. His lack of credentials was irrelevant to his calling.
I REFUSE the lie that God needs my talent to accomplish His purposes. IT IS WRITTEN that it's not by might or power but by His Spirit. Amos was a farmer with zero training yet prophesied to kings. The disciples were fishermen who turned the world upside down. My usefulness isn't determined by my abilities but by my connection to the Vine. IT IS WRITTEN that apart from Him I can do nothing, but IN Him all things are possible. The BARAK blessing flows through surrendered vessels, not impressive resumes. I don't need talent. I need His Spirit. He doesn't need what I have. He needs my YES. God chose me before I had any abilities worth mentioning, and He'll use me powerfully not because of what I bring but because of WHO lives in me. I am a carrier of His glory.
The Father isn't scanning for the most talented to use. He's looking for the most yielded, and that has nothing to do with IQ or abilities—just a heart that says 'Here I am, send me.'
