"I cut myself once, so I'm too damaged for God to heal my emotions now."
How it sounds in your head: I was so overwhelmed I took a scissors to my arm. Just once, but I did it. Now I feel like I crossed a line and God can't fix what's broken inside me. I'm too messed up for normal healing. I damaged myself.
"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."
-- Psalm 147:3Source: Enemy accusation that self-harm creates irreversible spiritual/emotional damage beyond God's reach.
Self-harm feels like a massive failure and the physical scar (even if small) feels like permanent evidence of brokenness. The shame is crushing and isolating.
The demoniac was CUTTING HIMSELF with stones, living in tombs, so violent no one could bind him. Jesus spoke ONE WORD, demons left, and the man was found 'clothed and in his right mind'—instant mental/emotional healing despite severe self-harm.
I REFUSE the lie that self-harm puts me beyond God's healing reach. IT IS WRITTEN that He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds—ALL wounds, even self-inflicted ones. The demoniac was CUTTING HIMSELF with stones and one encounter with Jesus left him clothed and in his right mind—instant transformation. I didn't shock God or disqualify myself. IT IS WRITTEN that He is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. I am not too damaged, too far gone, or too broken. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in me and is healing my emotions RIGHT NOW, not after years of therapy but in this moment. I receive the Father's binding up of my wounds with supernatural speed because He specializes in instant breakthrough for the broken.
The Father saw you pick up those scissors and didn't turn away in horror—He moved CLOSER, weeping with you, already planning your instant deliverance. He's not waiting for you to heal yourself; He's flooding you NOW with the oil and wine of His presence, binding up what you couldn't.
