"God can't bless me while I'm buried in debt—I'm disqualified."
How it sounds in your head: You can't be in God's will and drowning financially. Debt means you're out of alignment, outside His blessing. He's waiting for you to clean up this mess before He moves. Your disobedience created this, so your discipline has to fix it.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
-- Romans 5:8Religious teaching that debt is sin and God withholds blessing until financial obedience is demonstrated; law-based thinking that blessing follows performance.
Debt feels like consequence—bad decisions producing bad results. Religious teaching has connected debt to disobedience, making it seem like God is distant until the balance hits zero. The grinding pressure of monthly payments feels like divine discipline.
The prodigal blew his entire inheritance on prostitutes and wild living, ending up feeding pigs. When he returned broke, dirty, and smelling like a pig farm, the father RAN to him, embraced him immediately, gave him the ring of authority, the robe of honor, sandals of sonship, and threw a party—all within minutes, zero process required.
I REFUSE the lie that debt disqualifies me from the Father's blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that while I was STILL A SINNER, Christ died for me—He didn't wait for me to be debt-free. The prodigal received full restoration while smelling like pigs, not after cleaning up. My Father is RUNNING toward me NOW, not waiting for my credit cards to hit zero. IT IS WRITTEN in Ephesians 1:3 that I am ALREADY BLESSED with every spiritual blessing in Christ—that's present tense, not future conditional. The BARAK protected Abraham even when he LIED, Jacob even when he DECEIVED. I am His righteousness, His son, His heir. Blessing flows NOW.
The Father isn't standing at a distance waiting for you to solve your debt crisis—He's running toward you with the ring of authority and the robe of righteousness while you're still in the pig pen. Your debt doesn't pause His love or His provision.
