"God can't bless me financially until I learn to be a better steward first."
How it sounds in your head: I spent my birthday money on dumb stuff. I don't tithe consistently. I'm not responsible enough yet. God is probably waiting until I prove I can handle money before He'll bless me.
"But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet.'"
-- Luke 15:22Religion teaching that blessing is earned through faithful stewardship and God withholds until you prove worthy.
Every sermon on money talks about being faithful with little before getting much. Church leaders quote 'faithful in little, faithful in much' as a test. His own wasteful spending seems like proof he's not ready for blessing.
The prodigal demanded his inheritance early, blew it ALL on prostitutes and wild living proving himself the worst possible steward, and came home broke. The Father didn't make him prove anything or work his way back - he immediately gave him ring, robe, sandals, and threw a party restoring EVERYTHING instantly.
I REFUSE the lie that I must prove myself a good steward before God blesses me. IT IS WRITTEN that the Father restored the prodigal who proved himself the WORST steward without any waiting period or test. God's blessing on me is based on JESUS' stewardship, not mine. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed with the blessing of Abraham by covenant, and that blessing protected even DECEIVERS and made them wealthy. My mistakes with money don't disqualify me from breakthrough - Jesus' blood qualified me permanently. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and financial blessing is flowing to me RIGHT NOW based on His nature, not my track record.
The Father isn't waiting for you to prove yourself responsible. He's running toward you with the ring of authority while you still smell like wasted money, because His blessing is based on who HE is, not who you've been.
