"My debt is evidence that God isn't pleased with me or providing for me."
How it sounds in your head: If God really loved me, I wouldn't be in this mess. Other Christians seem financially stable—clearly God is blessing them but not me. Maybe I'm not praying enough, giving enough, faithful enough. My debt proves something is wrong between me and God.
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ."
-- Ephesians 1:3Religion equates financial struggle with divine displeasure and debt with evidence of God's judgment or distance.
She looks around at church and sees people who seem financially comfortable while she's drowning. It feels like tangible evidence that God's favor is on them but not her, and that her debt must mean she's doing something wrong spiritually.
Elijah was one of the greatest prophets, yet God's provision method was RAVENS bringing him bread and meat by a brook—not exactly conventional financial blessing. Yet God was completely pleased with him, and the provision never failed even though it looked unconventional and insufficient by human standards.
I REFUSE the lie that debt means God is displeased with me. IT IS WRITTEN that God HAS blessed me with EVERY spiritual blessing in Christ—past tense, finished, complete. I am Abraham's seed, and the BARAK blessing flows regardless of current circumstances because it's based on COVENANT. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO CONDEMNATION for those in Christ Jesus. I am the righteousness of God, fully pleasing to the Father through Jesus' blood. The Lord commands blessing on my storehouses, and supernatural provision is flowing NOW. My debt doesn't define God's pleasure—Christ's finished work does.
The Father isn't keeping a ledger of your financial status to determine His affection—He's looking at you through the lens of Christ's perfection and seeing you completely pleasing. Your credit card balance doesn't change His delight in you any more than the prodigal's pig smell changed the father's sprinting embrace.
