"God can't bless me financially while I'm still in debt."
How it sounds in your head: You've heard it preached: get out of debt first, then God will bless you. You're disqualified from abundance until you're debt-free. The blessing is for those who manage well—you didn't, so you wait. Maybe if you'd been a better steward, but now you're stuck.
"Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin."
-- Romans 4:7-8Religion teaching debt blocks God's blessing and that provision is reward for financial obedience.
Prosperity preachers and Dave Ramsey both teach debt elimination before blessing. Scripture about faithful stewards seems to confirm you must prove yourself worthy of increase. His debt feels like a wall between him and God's favor.
They were SLAVES—owned nothing, owed everything, 400 years of unpaid labor debt to Egypt. By world economics, they should have left with nothing but their freedom. Instead, in ONE NIGHT, God gave them favor and they plundered Egypt—gold, silver, clothing—the wealth of their oppressors became their exodus provision.
I REFUSE the lie that God can't bless me until I'm debt-free. IT IS WRITTEN that the blessed are those whose sins are covered—my blessing is based on FORGIVENESS, not my financial statement. IT IS WRITTEN that God commands blessing on my storehouse—not when it's organized, but because I'm covenant. Israel was buried in slave debt yet plundered Egypt in one night. The widow owed impossible debt yet oil multiplied that afternoon. I don't work toward blessing—I'm ALREADY BLESSED in Christ, and the BARAK covenant isn't waiting for my credit report to improve. The blessing protects and provides DESPITE my situation, just like it did for Abraham the liar.
The Father doesn't check your credit score before releasing provision—He checked the cross and saw PAID IN FULL. While you're calculating how long it will take to be worthy, He's already releasing supernatural multiplication.
