"God blesses me to test if I'll stay humble, and wanting more fails the test."
How it sounds in your head: What if God gives me things to see if I'll get prideful? Maybe if I want more or enjoy what I have too much, I'll fail His test and He'll take it away like He did to rich people in the Bible.
"Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy."
-- 1 Timothy 6:17Religion portrayed God as trickster who blesses to trap you, creating fear of receiving and enjoying gifts.
He's heard stories about people who 'got proud' and lost everything, making God seem suspicious of blessing. Every gift feels like a potential trap instead of love.
Isaac sowed in famine and reaped a HUNDREDFOLD the same year. He became so wealthy the Philistines envied him. God didn't stop blessing to 'test his humility'—He kept MULTIPLYING because the BARAK covenant blessing was UNSTOPPABLE regardless of Isaac's character.
I REFUSE the lie that God's blessings are tests to trap me! IT IS WRITTEN that He gives me richly ALL THINGS to ENJOY—not to test, but to DELIGHT me. My Father isn't suspicious of me; He RUNS toward me with abundance. The BARAK blessing on my life isn't conditional on my humility—it's based on JESUS' finished work. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO condemnation for me in Christ. I receive freely, enjoy fully, and expect MORE because my Father's generosity has no limits!
The Father doesn't bless you then watch nervously to see if you'll blow it. He blessed the prodigal AFTER the failure, while he still smelled like pigs—blessing is His nature, not your test.
