"God allowed this cancer to prepare me for heaven."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe He's loosening my grip on this world. Maybe suffering is supposed to make me long for eternity. People keep saying, 'God is preparing you for something greater'—maybe that something is death.
"When Jesus heard that, He said, 'This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.'"
-- John 11:4Source: Religion that spiritualizes sickness as divine preparation instead of demonic attack, making God the author of cancer instead of the healer.
Facing mortality does shift perspective, creating correlation that feels purposeful. Church clichés about 'this world is not our home' make suffering sound like heaven prep.
Dead four days, body decomposing, wrapped in grave clothes, sealed in a tomb—Jesus shouted, 'Lazarus, come forth!' and the dead man walked out IMMEDIATELY. Death reversed, decay undone, resurrection instant.
I REFUSE the lie that cancer is preparing me for heaven. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus called Lazarus forth from four days dead—resurrection power, not resignation, is God's response to death. Jesus wept at the tomb because death is the ENEMY, not the plan. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 118:17, 'I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.' I am not being prepared for death; I am being positioned for testimony. The BARAK blessing covers my body, and no weapon including cancer prospers.
Your Father isn't using cancer to ready you for heaven—He sent Jesus to destroy death, and He's running toward you with resurrection power, ready to raise up what the enemy tried to kill, just like He did with Lazarus.
