"Generous people are foolish and always end up broke themselves"
How it sounds in your head: I've seen people give everything away and end up with nothing. My friend is always helping others and can never pay her own rent. Generosity sounds nice but practically it just means you'll be taken advantage of. Wise people protect their resources.
"Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."

She genuinely has witnessed people give foolishly and suffer for it. The observable pattern seems to be that generous people end up needing help themselves.
They were in deep poverty and severe trial, yet their abundance of joy overflowed in rich generosity—they begged Paul to let them give beyond their ability. Their radical giving in extreme lack didn't destroy them but proved that grace-fueled generosity defies natural economics.
I REFUSE the lie that generosity leads to poverty. IT IS WRITTEN in Luke 6:38 that when I GIVE, it SHALL be given to me—good measure, pressed down, shaken together, RUNNING OVER. I'm not talking about foolish giving without wisdom, but Spirit-led generosity that taps into heaven's return system. IT IS WRITTEN in Proverbs 11:24 that there is one who scatters yet INCREASES MORE, and the generous soul will be made RICH. I am Abraham's seed under the BARAK blessing—the same blessing that made Abraham leave Egypt richer after giving away Sarah, and made Isaac so wealthy during famine that kings envied him. My generosity doesn't deplete me—it positions me under an open heaven.
Your Father isn't watching you give so He can leave you empty—every act of Spirit-led generosity is Him setting up the return delivery system that makes your giving look like pocket change. He's the Father who spent more on the welcome party than the prodigal wasted in sin, because His generosity toward generous hearts knows no budget.
