"Fatigue is just my normal now; I'll never feel alive and energized again."
How it sounds in your head: This is just how I am now. Maybe I used to have energy as a kid, but those days are over. I'm stuck feeling half-dead all the time.
"Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness."
-- Lamentations 3:22-23Enemy declaration of permanent condition + cultural normalization of exhaustion as adulthood.
He's comparing current adolescent transition fatigue to childhood energy and assuming it's a permanent downward trajectory. Media and adults around him constantly complain about being tired.
Mephibosheth was crippled in both feet since age five, living in exile, convinced his condition was permanent. King David brought him to the palace in ONE DAY, gave him all of Saul's land, and he ate at the king's table for life—instant elevation from permanent exile.
I REFUSE the lie that fatigue is my permanent identity or that I'll never feel alive again. IT IS WRITTEN that His mercies are NEW EVERY MORNING—not recycled, not diminishing, but BRAND NEW with every sunrise. I am not defined by yesterday's exhaustion. I am a new creation in Christ; old things have passed away, ALL THINGS have become new. The BARAK blessing declares I am blessed coming in and going out, in evening and morning, and the Lord commands the blessing on everything I put my hand to. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 23:3 that He RESTORES my soul. Not maintains, not manages—RESTORES. My energy is restored, my vitality is restored, my aliveness is restored because I am connected to the Life-Giver Himself.
The Father doesn't see you as a declining battery running out of charge—He sees you as a son plugged into the infinite power source. Like the prodigal who went from pig pen to party in minutes, your turnaround isn't dependent on a long process; it's dependent on one moment of receiving what He's already running toward you with.
