"I need to rest more and hustle less to finally have energy."
How it sounds in your head: You're burned out from pushing too hard. If you just slowed down, took more breaks, set better boundaries, you'd finally feel rested. The exhaustion is self-inflicted from overcommitment.
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
-- Matthew 11:28Source: world's self-care gospel teaching that energy is a math equation: less output + more rest = vitality.
Every burnout article says to do less, rest more, practice self-care. When you don't, the fatigue feels like earned punishment for ignoring your limits.
Paul was beaten, shipwrecked, stoned, imprisoned, sleepless, hungry, in constant danger—humanly he should have been destroyed. Yet he said 'When I am weak, then I am strong' because Christ's power rested on him—supernatural energy in the midst of impossible output.
I REFUSE the lie that I need to hustle less to have energy. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus GIVES rest—it's not earned through better time management or self-care routines. Paul was shipwrecked, beaten, sleepless and STILL powerful because Christ's strength was perfected in his weakness. IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 40:31 that those who wait on the Lord RENEW their strength, mount up with wings like eagles, RUN and not be weary, WALK and not faint. Running, walking, moving—energized, not depleted. I am under the BARAK blessing where I am blessed in all I set my hand to. I receive divine energy as a gift, not a reward for doing less.
The Father sees you trying to earn rest through self-care formulas, feeling guilty when you can't do less. He's running toward you saying 'Stop trying to manufacture what I freely give. Come to Me—not to your calendar, not to your boundaries—to ME, and I will give you rest that defies your output.'
