"Faith is a feeling I can't manufacture, so I'm disqualified from promises."
How it sounds in your head: I don't feel faithful. I feel scared, anxious, uncertain. I can't make myself feel strong faith. Since I can't produce the feeling, I must not have real faith, which means all the promises are for other people, not me.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."
-- Ephesians 2:8-9Religious lie making faith an EMOTION you generate instead of POSITION you occupy in Christ.
Your emotions feel like truth-tellers. Fear feels stronger than faith most days. The enemy says if you can't FEEL it, you don't HAVE it.
Angel called Gideon 'mighty man of valor' while he was hiding in fear, threshing wheat in a winepress. Gideon FELT weak, afraid, inadequate - but God saw his POSITION and used him to defeat armies. Feelings didn't determine reality.
I REFUSE the lie that faith is a feeling I must manufacture. IT IS WRITTEN that faith is a GIFT, not of myself, not of works. God has DEALT me a measure of faith - I already HAVE it regardless of how I feel. IT IS WRITTEN that I am the righteousness of God in Christ - that's POSITION, not emotion. The woman trembled in fear yet Jesus honored her faith. I am Abraham's seed under the BARAK blessing - fear and faith can coexist. I am connected to Jesus; that IS faith, whether I feel strong or weak.
The Father sees you like Gideon - not as you feel (weak, scared, inadequate) but as you ARE (mighty, beloved, qualified). He's running toward you with the robe of righteousness while you're still trembling, calling you by your TRUE name, not your feeling-name.
