"Everyone leaves eventually. I'm the common denominator in every failed friendship."
How it sounds in your head: Best friends from high school don't call anymore. College roommates moved on. That girl you thought was your person ghosted you. Every time you think you've found your people, they drift. It has to be you.
"For He Himself has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.'"
-- Hebrews 13:5Trauma from abandonment being weaponized by the enemy to create expectation of rejection.
The evidence is stacked—actual people who actually left. Geography changed, seasons shifted, and you're still alone. You can name five friendships that ended, and in each one, YOU were there.
Ruth was a foreigner, a widow, with every reason to be abandoned in a culture that didn't want her. Instead, she INSTANTLY found Naomi's covenant loyalty and then Boaz's favor—from complete isolation to kinsman redeemer in ONE harvest season.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm the common denominator in every loss. IT IS WRITTEN that my God will NEVER leave me nor forsake me—not sometimes, not conditionally, but NEVER. Failed friendships don't define me; they were seasonal, not shameful. My Father isn't waiting for me to fix whatever's wrong with me. There's NOTHING wrong with me. IT IS WRITTEN in Proverbs 18:24 that there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother, and I receive COVENANT friendships now. The BARAK blessing includes favor with people. I walk in divine connection.
The Father sees every goodbye you've cried through, and He's not diagnosing you as defective—He's preparing the friends who WON'T leave. Like the prodigal, He doesn't make you earn loyalty after loss; He runs toward you WITH your people already picked out.
