"Everyone eventually shows their true colors and it's always disappointing."
How it sounds in your head: You've become a detective, looking for red flags in everyone. You mentally catalog small inconsistencies, waiting for the other shoe to drop. The exhaustion of constant vigilance is killing your relationships before they start, but you tell yourself it's just being smart now.
"Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness."
-- Lamentations 3:22-23Trauma-based worldview that reinterprets all humanity through one person's failure, making the enemy's isolated attack into your entire reality.
You've seen the pattern enough times that prediction feels like protection. Your brain has literally rewired to expect betrayal as the baseline, and every new person has to prove they're different—which is impossible.
Mephibosheth spent years hiding in Lo Debar, certain David would kill him like kings killed rival heirs. Instead, David IMMEDIATELY restored all Saul's land, gave him permanent place at the king's table, called him 'son'—instant reversal from expected betrayal to unexpected covenant loyalty.
I REFUSE the lie that everyone eventually disappoints. IT IS WRITTEN that His compassions FAIL NOT and are NEW every morning. My past betrayal does not dictate my future relationships. IT IS WRITTEN in Proverbs 18:24 there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother, and God is bringing those people into my path RIGHT NOW. I am under the BARAK blessing—protected, favored, surrounded by covenant people who reflect my Father's faithfulness. My discernment is being RESTORED without suspicion.
Your Father isn't asking you to ignore wisdom—He's replacing your trauma-filter with His Spirit's discernment. He's already assigned faithful people to your life who will SHOCK you with their consistency, and He's healing your ability to receive it without waiting for the betrayal that isn't coming.
