"God allowed all these betrayals, so He must not be protecting me."
How it sounds in your head: Where was God when my husband cheated? When my kids abandoned me? When the church forgot me in this nursing home? If He's so good, why am I so alone?
"No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is from Me, says the LORD."
-- Isaiah 54:17Religion: Teaches that blessing equals comfort, so suffering must mean God's absence or anger, rather than seeing the cross as proof He enters suffering WITH us.
She prayed and betrayal still came. She trusted and loss still happened. The enemy uses her pain as 'proof' God doesn't care or isn't powerful enough to protect.
They were thrown into a furnace so hot it killed the soldiers who threw them in. God didn't PREVENT the fire—He JOINED them in it. They came out without even the smell of smoke, and the king declared their God is the ONLY God. The fire didn't consume them; it PROMOTED them.
I REFUSE the lie that God allowed betrayals and isn't protecting me. IT IS WRITTEN that NO weapon formed against me shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Weapons were formed, but they did NOT win. My righteousness is FROM God, not from my circumstances. IT IS WRITTEN that ALL things work together for good to those who love God (Romans 8:28). I am blessed coming in and going out, in city and field—the BARAK covers me even in betrayal. I declare: The enemy meant it for evil, but God means it for GOOD. I am still standing, still blessed, still His daughter.
Your Father didn't cause the betrayals—sin did. But He's like the father who ran to the Prodigal—not asking WHERE you've been but celebrating that you're HERE. Every weapon that struck you is being turned into a testimony. He didn't promise no trials; He promised 'I will NEVER leave you' (Hebrews 13:5). You've NEVER been alone. The fourth man in the fire has been WITH you in EVERY furnace.
